I’m going to reveal the top 15 states with the highest rates of burglary in the United States.

1. New Mexico

In the state of New Mexico, 830 people are victim out of 100,000 people. Plus, there is also drug trade that passes through the state from Mexico. This makes New Mexico not a surprise to be on this list.

2. Arkansas

There are 795 burglaries per 100,000 people. The state suffers from poverty crimes which include burglaries.

3. Mississippi

In this state, 781 burglaries occur per 100,000 people. Plus, a town called Greenville is the 2nd most burglarized city in the whole country. If you live in this city, one in sixteen people is a victim of burglary.

4. Oklahoma

There are about 742 burglaries per 100,000 people. Tulsa is the state's worst city for burglaries.

5. Louisiana

About 740 people will be a victim of burglary per 100,000 people. Alexandria is located in Louisiana and is the country's 3rd most burglarized city.

6. North Carolina

There are going to be 710 burglary cases per 100,000 people. The city of Laurinburg has about three burglaries per 100 people. Plus, this city is known for its more violent crimes such as murder, rape, and even armed robbery. One out of every 76 people will be a victim of violent crime in this city.

7. Alabama

Out of 100,000 people, 700 will fall victim to burglary. Anniston, which is located in Alabama, has 269 burglaries per 10,000 people alone!

8.  Washington

Per 100,000 people, 674 will fall victim to burglary. The city of Aberdeen has a population of 16,100. In this city, you can expect 159 burglaries per 10,000 people.

9. South Carolina

In a group of 100,00 people, about 664 people will be burglarized. Florence will be 99th on the list of 100 most dangerous cities in the United States. In the city alone, there are 164 burglaries per 10,000 people.

10. Nevada

This is going to be the last one in the top ten most burglarized cities. It has about 641 burglaries per 100,000 people. It is home to Sin City, so does this really surprise us? Elko, Nevada is the most burglarized city in the state.

11. Georgia

In a group of 100,000 people, 614 will be burglarized. College Park will have 235 burglaries alone per 10,000 people. This is the most burglarized city in Georgia. This city is home to a lot of conventions and an airport. This means a lot of travelers which makes it a great target for theft.

12. Tennessee

In 100,000 people, 606 will be burglarized every year. Dyersburg is the worst city in the state and is home to most of the burglaries. The city has 158 burglaries per 10,000 people. However, keep in mind their population is only 16,000 people.

13. Ohio

In Ohio, you can expect 575 burglaries per 100,000 people. However, keep in mind that there are several cities in the state that are on the top 100 most dangerous cities in the United States. These cities include Dayton, Lima, Toledo, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Canton.

14. Alaska

This is the most sparsely populated state in the United States. Not to mention, it is the largest too. However, this makes people an easy target for burglary. Per 100,000 people 546 will fall victim to burglary. Plus, Anchorage, Alaska ranks in as the 62nd most dangerous city in America. Anchorage has 56 burglaries per 10,000 people alone.

15. Arizona

Last on our list is Arizona. Arizona has 544 burglaries per 100,000 people. Apache Junction has a population of 38,500 and experiences 91 burglaries per 10,000 people. This means that one in 39 people fall victim to property crime or violent crime in Apache Junction.
